Adira | Feature Film

This feature film sprouted from the idea of a long-abandoned summer kitchen on Bradley's mom's farm, prompting the question: "Who resides within that neglected space, and why?" Irene's boundless imagination propelled the concept into reality.

"Adira" represents a harmonious collaboration among Kansas City indie filmmakers, family, and the community. Bradley and Irene recognized the need for a proper budget, turning to crowdfunding, where they not only exceeded their target but also their aspirations. Their goal was to craft a captivating work of art and establish their presence in the film industry by nurturing new talent and creating a cinematic experience that rivaled big-budget productions. Remain | Short Film

"Remain" is a short film that tenderly explores the memories shared between a husband and wife as they prepare for their day. Our primary aim in creating this film was to establish and maintain a consistent mood throughout, a goal we've successfully achieved.

The film's excellence has been widely recognized, with numerous selections at prestigious film festivals. Notably, "Remain" claimed the title of Best Film at Film Slam in Orlando, FL, and earned a nomination for Best Acting in the Rode MyReel short film competition. Its impact extends beyond the festival circuit, as the film has become a valuable resource for thousands of film students at The Los Angeles Film School, serving as an instructive example of editing and audio techniques.

What sets "Remain" apart is our emphasis on lighting, mood, and tone, where we leveraged a relatively simple concept to craft a compelling and emotionally resonant cinematic experience.

Rebel | Music Video

In this music video, we embark on a journey with Sims Volour, an exceptionally talented musician and artist, as he delivers a soul-stirring melody. Sims approached Hidden District with a request for a minimalist performance video that resonates with the song's vibe.

Our creative vision led us to an atmospheric alley and an intimate stage, perfectly reflecting the mood of his performance.

The concept centers around Sims Volour's journey to an "underground" jazz club performance, adding an intriguing layer to the narrative.

Molly | Music Video

In the midst of an apocalyptic landscape, an enigmatic traveler stumbles upon an equally mysterious pillow fort. This chance encounter leads a band of spirited misfits on a journey to experience the most unforgettable party of their lives.

The song "Molly" serves as the vibrant soundtrack, performed by the eclectic alternative punk rock band, Captains of April. Their musical ingenuity knows no limits, making them the ideal complement to Hidden District Studios' creative vision.

Dry Season | Short Film

"Dry Season" unfolds the tale of a young farmer and his expectant wife who receive a harsh awakening as they confront a severe drought in their inaugural year as farmers.

The 2012 drought served as the catalyst for Bradley, driven by his stepfather's necessity to commence harvesting earlier. One morning, while traversing the countryside near KCMO en route to his mother's house, he was captivated by the enchanting cornfields, an instant inspiration for the film. The challenge lay in the fact that his stepfather's crop harvesting was scheduled to commence in just a few weeks. With determination, Bradley hastily penned a 5-page screenplay, initiated casting and crew assembly, and shot the film. On the final day of filming, his stepfather was literally harvesting the crops.

With the support of the Kansas City film community, "Dry Season" emerged as a pivotal moment, revealing the potential for creating movies, and sparking the realization that their filmmaking journey had begun.

Bennu: The Rise | Short Film

"Bennu: The Rise" marks the humble beginning of our journey. It's a captivating story about a fallen star placed under a microscope, revealing a crucial and ominous message.

Our cinematic adventure started during Christmas of 2011 in Kansas City, MO when Irene and Bradley took on the challenge of the local indie film competition known as "Fiery Wheel o' Rama of Film." Despite its whimsical name, they were determined to showcase their filmmaking prowess. Fate had them spin the fiery wheel, landing on the Sci-Fi genre. They embarked on a weeks-long endeavor, crafting their laboratory in the freezing cold warehouse, and emerged with an award-winning film.

Their triumph in this small competition was a pivotal moment, igniting their passion and prompting the birth of Hidden District Studios. The very next day, they set out on the path to develop their feature film, "Adira." Every win, no matter how small, played a crucial role in shaping the team's aspirations and inspiring filmmakers across the local area.
