ABOUT BRAD LINCOLN

I have always been drawn to filmmaking, but it's how its components come together to create an emotional effect that keeps pulling me back. I am deeply interested in the relationship between light, composition, movement, sound, music, and performance, and in the way these elements can turn a simple moment into one that lingers with an audience.

In my twenties, I began turning my ideas, experiences, and observations into short scripts and skits, and that curiosity eventually grew into a career. At present, in the middle of New York City, I am pursuing a more definite aim: to produce films that captivate, provoke thought, and bring people together.

Because my background is in cinematography and directing, I think of stories in images before words. I mentally watch scenes develop and look for the links between the characters, the setting, and the emotions involved. I am drawn to stories that focus on character, whether they're set in drama, suspense, history, the unknown, or somewhere in between.

I am interested in filmmaking in all its aspects, from story and performance to cinematography, lighting, production design, sound, and music. Whether I am carrying out my own vision or working alongside others, I aim to produce thoughtful work that truly deserves the time that an audience spends on it. I continually seek the next challenge that will take me somewhere I have not been before.
